Jolita Jewellery is a selection of lovingly handmade bold statement pieces meticulously crafted with a great attention to detail. It is created by Algis Abromaitis. Here is a bit more about the designer.
Born in Lithuania, at the age of 18 Algis Abromaitis set to travel the world. Enjoying visiting new cities he traveled from New York to Tokyo and 15 years ago settled in London, where he lives and creates his jewelry.
It all started a while ago, when after having a recurring dream of a bracelet, Algis felt compelled to "make something". A friend took him to a bead shop in Beaks Street and it all started from there.
The new hobby turn into a strong passion and encouraged by his sister in 2008 Jolita jewelry was born.
The brands slogan is 'Urbi et Orbit' which translates to 'to the city and to the World'. The meaning of this to Algis is very personal "When a young man came to Rome for the first time, he was greeted by a Roman with a saying "Urbi et Orbi" which meant welcome to Rome and to the World. In those days Rome was one of the greatest cities in the world. So for me, London was my Rome. I came to London, which open the gates to the world."
Algis is inspired by his visits to museums, history and mythology. "I like incorporating unusual items in my jewelry, so I am always on the lookout for something a bit strange or things that others tend to overlook."
